Professional Experience

Dr. Marcos Unis graduated in January of 2007 with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and Masters in Veterinary Anatomy, He became a board certified veterinary surgeon in February of 2012. During his academic surgical training at several of the top veterinary colleges in the country he had the privilege to be trained by some of the best veterinary specialists in their fields. During his surgical training at the University of Illinois and Kansas State University he has published several medical journal articles and co-authored a chapter in the new surgical text book by Johnson and Tobias. Most importantly, during his surgical residency at Kansas State University he had the opportunity to train under 6 board certified surgeons who were some of the best mentors in the country. He gained valuable experience in advanced orthopedics, soft tissue surgery, oncologic surgery, neurosurgery and minimally invasive surgery. As a board certified surgeon Dr. Unis has also lectured internationally and nationally and conducted numerous continuing education seminars in advanced orthopedics, neurosurgery and minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Unis is also one of the few surgeons in the country who is Masters certified in the newest cementless titanium total hip replacement system. He is most passionate about minimally invasive surgery and joint replacements as well as any new techniques that will minimize discomfort from surgery and provide the safest and fastest recovery.

Dr. Unis is well known for his compassion, professionalism, attention to detail, eye for research and his diverse surgical experience. He believes he has a unique ability to make clients feel at ease with their decision to pursue surgery and give them all the most current information, so that they have a good understanding of the particular surgery that is necessary for their loved ones.
